Our school day starts at 7:55 am (doors open at 7:30 am) and goes until 3:30 pm (2:00 pm on Wednesdays). Like the rest of the Explore Schools Network, we have a longer academic year with our school year starting during the last week of August.

During a typical day, upper school scholars take the following core subjects: Reading/Literacy, Writing, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Spanish. There is also dedicated time for independent reading, small group instruction, and test prep.

In addition to the academic course load, scholars take enrichment (elective) classes throughout the year and can participate in a variety of extracurricular activities and programs. These programs can and do change from year to year, depending on the availability and interest of our teachers.

In previous years, we’ve offered the following enrichment classes and extracurriculars for our students:

  • Art
  • Drama/Musical Theater
  • Physical Education
  • Music Production
  • Cheerleading
  • Basketball
  • Lacrosse
  • Student Council
  • Academic Tutoring
  • Family & Consumer Science
  • Regents Algebra and Living Environment
  • Coding
