Exceed Charter School is a K-6 public school located in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn and is Explore schools’ newest school. Exceed opened its doors in 2012 to students in grades K-3 and will add one grade per year until serving grades K-8 in 2017-18. Exceed offers extensive support services for students with special needs, including a 12:1:1 program, as well as ample opportunities for family involvement. Meet Our Leader
Curtis Palmore, Principal
Mr. Palmore joined the Explore network in 2011 as a principal in resident and was the founding principal of Exceed Charter School when the school opened in 2012. Mr. Palmore brings a vision of high expectations for all students and staff members to Exceed, creating an environment conducive to rigorous, joyful instruction that sets students on a path to high school, college, and beyond. When Exceed opened, Mr. Palmore led his team to start the year with high expectations and strong student and staff culture, which were critical to student success.
Keisha Rattray, Assistant Principal, Upper School
Ms. Rattray joined the Exceed family in 2015 to lead the Upper School’s academic initiatives and priorities. Ms. Rattray has been an educator since 2001, teaching at NYC public schools until 2007, when she became a school leader as a Dean of Culture at an NYC charter school before becoming that school’s Co-Principal. In 2010, she founded a middle school and served as that school’s Director for five years.
